my jumble of words…

Thanks to Dan King over at DoYouthinkIT’LLfly? for this great post. You just plug your website into this new program called Wordle. It turns any document or website into a word image pulling out the most used words. And the image here is what came out for Terribly Poetic. I find it interesting to see what I write about the most here. Let me know what you think? And I would love to see what other people create for there site. You can feel free to comment with your picture on this post or just send a link to your image. You’ll wanna click read more below to see the image in a larger version.

Please update

Hi everyone, just a quick bit of housekeeping. Could everyone that has a link to this blog please update the beginning of it to web.me.com instead of web.mac.com Therefore the full link to this blog should be http://web.me.com/dgrunau/Daryl_Grunau/Blog/Blog.html

I have updated the domain daryl.yfcsask.com to link to the above link. It seems this change helps the comments to work. If you are visiting the old web.mac.com site and you try to add a comment it most likely won’t work.

Thanks

Road Journal: At Home

So we made it home. I realize that in a two week long trip I should have more than 4 entries, but I blame a lack of internet access on my lack of blogging. Anyways, we had a great trip home. Libby still continued to surprise us with how well she can travel long drives in the car. We had a couple 8 hour days coming home as we did alot fewer stops along the way. We did break up the trip and spent our first night in a hotel, which thanks to wonderful supporters, was our first hotel of the two weeks. Libby enjoyed the pool and we even got to enjoy the hot tub abit.
We had a wonderful visit with Scott and Vanessa Day in Airdrie on the trip home. Vanessa is kind of a shutter bug and loved taking photos of Libby. Above is an example of one of the photos she edited of their kids playing with Libby. We had a lot of fun and a great time their, so much that we left alot later the next day than planned. From there we made a short visit in Caronport and stayed over night before returning home yesterday.
It’s feels abit weird being home, but it felt so great to sleep in my bed again. And thanks to our awesome neighbour, our yard looks better than when we left. We love our neighbours.

Anyways, go look at some photos over here

And comments are back again. YEAH

Website Updated

Hey since somehow I found time to post my life altering news I decided it was time to update my site as well. Not the blog, but the Shirts, Print, About Me, and Eclectic sections of the site. Here you can see some of the projects I have been busy with over the past month. Most note-able is the NMC ’08 Booklet on the Print page. This book has taken much of my time at work lately and is for our annual conference that we in Saskatoon our hosting this year. Check out the rest of it too and let me know what you think.

Flickr Meme

Yeah that’s right I have spent too much time outside playing ultimate that I haven’t posted on her in awhile. So I am relegating myself to a ‘meme.’

The concept:
1. Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr Search.
2. Using only the first page of results, and pick one image.
3. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images into Big Huge Lab’s Mosaic Maker to create a mosaic of the picture answers.

The questions:
1. What is your first name?
2. What is your favorite food? right now?
3. What high school did you go to?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. Who is your celebrity crush?
6. What is your favourite drink?
7. What is your dream vacation?
8. What is your favourite dessert?
9. What do you want to be when you grow up?
10. What do you love most in life?
11. What is one word that describes you?
What is your flickr name?

Got this one from Living in the Gray

RoadTrip.

Yesterday I embarked on a one day roadtrip down to Regina for a reunion with those from “The Irish Szmigielski” bus during Calbreak. So we (leader, Patti and myself) loaded up lots of food into our shiny rental, Kia Rondo and headed off. Tyson Liske, who was also a member of our bus staff, set us up with the use of a building from his church to watch the Calbreak movie, laugh, chat, hang out and eat lots of food. While the turnout was quite low, only 5 students and 3 leaders, of a possible 30 that could have come. We made the best of our time together. So with our sweet bus shirts on and the 7 of us piled into the Rondo, (Tyson had to go home) and headed out to explore Regina. None of us live in Regina so we just drove and took alot of pictures along the way. Eventually we did found our way to the Parliment buildings, Wascana lake (although I’m not sure it can really be called that), and some other odd places. All in all it was a great time together and I am so glad that I took the time to drive down. While I usually would have a web gallery to display the pics, this time, because our group is so well connected on facebook, I created a facebook album that can be publicly seen here

Go Power Team!

YEAH!

Hey everyone, just thought I should let you all know that as I type this Dawn and Libby are on the road to home. The weather in Alberta finally let up enough for the ice to melt off the road. This is a long time in the waiting. Dawn had originally planned to come home on Monday. However, April snow brings ice, and lots of it. The highways from Edmonton to Llyodminister where quite terrible, until today that is.

Daddy misses his girls

This weather sucks. Dawn went to Alberta last Thursday morning for a quick trip over the weekend to surprise a friend at her bridal shower. She was originally planning on coming home Monday. Well this crappy weather has forced her to wait for the roads in Alberta and Sask to get to normal. So I have been at home alone or working alot to avoid being at home alone. I miss them alot and pray for their safe return very soon.
