Thank you so much for all your prayers and encouragement.

@Andrea - I've tried to give her some of my extra calories and it hasn't worked yet.

@J.B. - it may be "common" when you work in Peds, but would you feel okay about giving one of your kids the tube? Please pray we don't have to use it. Even though its nice to know that it is common, it's still hard to stomach.

Thanks everyone. The thing we need the most lately.... sleep.

I'm so sorry that her medication didn't work. I'm very glad for you that there are such capable doctors who are looking after Norah...we will be praying for wisdom for them, and continued peace for you! Remember Isaiah 43 "When you pass through the waters I'll be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you...when you walk through the fire you will not be burned and the flames will not consume you"...those have been precious words to me my whole life and they are living and active. It's God's sure promise to YOU! Our Lord will see you through!

Praying for you and your little family!

Sorry to hear that Norah will need surgery, but am thankful to know that there are medical professionals who are talented enough to fix a tiny little heart like hers. I'd be happy to share some of my extra calories with her! If only it were that simple. I will see you soon. 3 more sleeps!

Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to hear Norah will for sure need surgery. We will all be praying and there may be a miracle and it will heal on it's own!

We are also praying she will gain weight. However, if she doesn't, a feeding tube isn't that bad. Lots of babies have them temporarily (ng tubes, the ones through the nose); they still eat normally, and then if they don't eat enough at their feed, you just top them up to the amount of calories they need. Or if you don't want to wake them, you can just give them the whole feed through the ng.
